Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.) is a two-year diploma course in pharmacy. It is a short-term course which fulfills minimum qualification to be a registered pharmacist. It deals with various properties of drugs, and their synthesis, formulation, uses etc. This course is approved by  Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai and approved by Govt.of Tamilnadu and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi (PCI) 

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have passed the 10th and 12th examinations with minimum 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Computer science/Biology/Botany/Zoology are required for admissions. Apart from these, there are other criteria that are considered while selecting a candidate – 

• Examination for a bachelor’s degree
• Intermediate Examination in Science
• Any other qualification, such as any of the preceding examinations that has been accepted by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Career and Jobs

There are many opportunities after completion of D. Pharm course. You can get job at drug stores of private or government hospitals. You can work in health clinics, NGOs, community health centres by checking the prescriptions, dispensing medicines and give them advice and directions. various opportunities include:
